Meet Amanda

Hi! I’m Amanda Danaher, Publisher and Editor in Chief of Lexington Family LIFE.

I’m a writer and editor who has spent over 17 years creating content for parents and families throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. My work has appeared in Charlotte Parent, CharlottesvilleFamily, Chesapeake Family LIFE, Fredericksburg Parent & Family, and RoanokeFamily.

While I always harbored a love for writing and finding the next adventure, I also worked in event planning in Washington, D.C. for a time, so finding things to do and putting all the details together has always been a little bit my thing.

I’m also a mom of five raising my family right here in the Lexington area along with you. And, like most parents, I’m constantly looking for something to do with the kids.

That’s really where Lexington Family LIFE came from.

I wanted one place where local parents could find what’s happening this weekend, discover somewhere new, plan a day trip, or stumble across something they didn’t even know was happening nearby.
